Chief Executive Officer
Genesis Non-Profit Housing Corporation is seeking a CEO.
The CEO is responsible for the development of affordable housing and leading the day-to-day operations of the organization in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. The CEO will serve as a liaison with key stakeholders and work to promote the organization across the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Board Governance, Mission, Vision, and Strategy
- In collaboration with the board, periodically review the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- In collaboration with the board, develop and monitor a strategic plan that creates and maintains a sustainable organization focused on growth, team development and stable funding streams.
- Serve as liaison between the programmatic work of the staff and the governance activities of the Board of Directors, supporting the Board in preparation of meetings.
- Maintain collaborative communication with the Board.
- Other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.
Partnerships
- Communicate and serve as a role model for the mission, vision, and values of Genesis Non-Profit Housing Corporation with community influencers.
- Develop and maintain key community relationships with donors, funders governmental agencies, housing organizations and supportive service providers.
- Share best practices and participate in relevant studies to obtain strong data to accomplish goals.
Financial Performance and Viability
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with banks, syndicators, and real estate financing entities.
- Assume primary responsibility for securing the financing/capital needed to develop
- affordable housing projects that will remain sustainable over time.
- Identify properties for acquisition and development that can address critical housing needs, and which have the greatest potential to qualify for and secure the financing/capital needed for success.
- Work with local and state stakeholders to secure support and approvals necessary to be successful with affordable housing projects.
- Develop investment policies and procedures and monitor compliance.
- Monitor federal and state legislation and proposed regulations relating to affordable housing development to determine the potential impact on Genesis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Prepare and present the draft of the annual budget and oversee budgetary administration.
Project & Team Oversight
- Ensure clear and regular communication regarding the mission, vision, and strategic initiatives with the team.
- In conjunction with the property management company, oversee the asset management of all properties within the portfolio.
- Oversee the planning, organization, prioritization, and implementation of projects and activities.
- Oversee project costs and compliance with funding requirements.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of team members, including creating performance related goals and growth opportunities for the team.
- Administer contracts with funding sources, supportive service providers and the property management company.
- Monitor and evaluate resident satisfaction and impact of projects
- Oversee the accountants and their preparation of financial statements.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Supervisory/Team Management Experience, 3+ years
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Knowledge/experience (5+ years) in:
- Construction/Real Estate acquisition and development
- Affordable housing development
- Low-income housing tax credit financing plus other federal, state, and local public and private funding mechanisms
- Social service coordination, especially behavioral health services
- Project management
- Financial administration (budgeting, financial reporting, auditing)
- Asset Management
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent leadership skills, including board engagement, and staff supervision.
- Proficient writing skills especially in preparation of project funding proposals
- Proficiency in preparing and assembling applications for LIHTC funding and loans.
- Strong asset management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed mostly in an office setting.? The team member is required to: stand, walk, sit; handle objects or controls; reach; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
